It's been awhile since I've posted anything about my family so I figured today was as good a day as any for a little life update.
SmileyRiley: She's 11. OMG I HAVE AN ELEVEN YEAR OLD. She's starting middle school in less than 2 weeks. She's super annoyed with being asked any questions even relating to the word "boyfriend," SO DO NOT ASK. Riley is still physically attached to her iPod- which I don't see changing anytime soon, loves playing golf, and is so tall these days that I foresee her catching me in height by age 12. She is still the kindest, and most generous, and tender hearted, and genuine person I have ever, ever met.
SisterHazel: She's 5. She's starting kindergarten in 13 days. I can.not.handle.this. like, at all. When Riley started kindergarten, I didn't get it. I never really understood all the moms who cried and acted like they were dying because their kid was going to school....but Riley was a day care baby. She ALWAYS went to day care Monday-Friday and I always worked full time, so starting kindergarten really didn't change anything as far as our day-to-day interactions. But now I get it. Hazel made me a "stay at home mom". I don't know what its like to be here day to day without Hazel. Its going to be a MASSIVE adjustment for both of us and my little mama heart is just not prepared for it. Hazel is still full of sass and her sense of humor never ceases to leave us all in stitches. She is so ready to start school, but mainly because she knows that means new clothes, and most importantly, new shoes.
BrotherBear: He's 2. And oh boy, is he two. He's wild. He's loud. He thinks he's a dinosaur most days. He's doing amazing with potty training, and talking allllll the time. He is the worst sleeper ever and is still in bed with us (#dontjudgeme) and therefore we're all sleep deprived zombies. He is also the absolute most loving and affectionate little boy and that's how he keeps me under his spell--just when I think I'm going to completely lose my mind he does something so sweet and I melt. Sigh....boys.
BobbyMagee: We have a puppy! O em geeee is he cute! He's a catahoula blue leopard dog and I'm completely obsessed with him.
Stephen: He's the best. His hair is too long. He's still a whiskey drinker. I'm still in love with him.
Me: You can find me cursing whatever bugs are eating my rose bushes, tending to our pool, glued to my phone, and praising God for blessing me with a life I don't deserve but am incredibly grateful to have.
So that's the update. Nothing is new, and everything is new. If you read the entire post, I'd like you to know I'm aware of ALL of the gross grammatical errors. Run on sentences are my life, etc, etc, bye.
